Özlem Ege Polat, EGE’s Founding Partner, has extensive experience in Energy and Corporate Law. With a distinguished career focused on advising both international and national energy companies and investors, Özlem specializes in navigating the complex landscape of energy regulatory matters.
Her expertise spans a range of critical tasks, including drafting and negotiating legal documents such as energy trading agreements, managing intricate licensing procedures, and representing clients before courts and regulatory bodies.
Throughout her career journey, Özlem represented numerous local and multinational clients in energy sector transactions. Her comprehensive approach extends beyond the energy sector, as she provides strategic guidance to clients operating in various sectors.
In addition to her proficiency in Mergers and Acquisitions, Özlem’s expertise encompasses Corporate Law and Commercial Law, offering invaluable insights and support at every stage of transactions.
Özlem graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2007 and obtained her LLM degree from University of Cologne in 2011 with a dissertation entitled “Establishing an Energy Exchange in Turkey: EEX as a Model” from the University.

Tuna Çakırca is a leading attorney with extensive experience in corporate, commercial, M&A, IT and capital markets matters. She has far-reaching experience in matters relating to complex corporate matters, M&A transactions in 10+ sectors including representation of both sell and buy side clients for the last 20 years.
She also is an expert in IT sector, regularly advising technology clients on all legal aspects of their businesses, including regulatory work, commercial contracts and negotiations, IP, litigation, employment and relationships with the governmental authorities. Her expertise also includes advising on payment products, Blockchain technology and initial coin offerings. She continues to assist several multinational companies in their day-to-day businesses in such areas.
Tuna graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2006. She was an associate at White & Case and Kinstellar in Istanbul and senior associate at Chadbourne & Parke (now Norton Rose) in Istanbul. Prior to forming EGE ÇAKIRCA, Tuna was a partner at an Istanbul based law firm recognized by material international law firm rankings for a period of 10 years.

Furkan completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Law of the Turkish-German University in 2022 and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the same institution. Furkan focuses on negotiating energy-based contracts for companies operating in the energy sector and those involved in the electric charging network industry, as well as providing consultancy services to these companies in contractual and regulatory aspects.
Additionally, Furkan provides day-to-day legal advisory services to companies to ensure the legal compliance and operational efficiency of energy plants. Within this framework, Furkan also has experience representing and defending his clients in disputes with official/administrative bodies.

Managing Associate
Zelal graduated from the Faculty of Law at Hacettepe University in 2017 and has been practicing as a lawyer registered with the Ankara Bar Association since 2018. As of July 2025, she continues her practice at the Ankara office of EGE – ÇAKIRCA Attorneys at Law.
She provides legal consultancy in commercial and corporate law, including the preparation of various contracts and transactions, and ensures compliance in internal company operations. Her practice also covers employment law matters such as recruitment, drafting and termination of employment contracts, dispute resolution between employers and employees, and criminal liability arising from occupational accidents.
Zelal represents clients in enforcement proceedings related to construction contracts, negotiable instruments, and other receivables. She also advises on administrative and tax law, including the management of tax-related proceedings and litigation, as well as criminal cases arising from tax issues. Since the beginning of her career, she has handled numerous cases in the field of tax law.
She provides legal support to cooperatives in connection with their operations and disputes under the Cooperatives Code, and follows up on real estate transactions.
In addition, she has completed training in mediation and expert witnessing and offers services in these areas to corporate clients.
